Joe Rojas-Burke reports in the Oregonian that:

The Human Rights Campaign, an advocacy group, surveyed medical centers about protections from discrimination, visitation access for same-sex couples, and other policies. The group received survey responses from 87 companies and agencies operating 375 hospitals and clinics across the U.S.
Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center, the Multnomah County Health Department, and Oregon Health & Science University Hospital were among the 27 sites nationwide credited with full compliance on all of these criteria:
  • “Sexual Orientation” in patients’ bill of rights or non-discrimination policy
  • “Gender Identity” in patients’ bill of rights or non-discrimination policy
  • Explicitly inclusive visitation policy grants equal access for same-sex couples
  • Explicitly inclusive visitation policy grants equal access for same-sex parents
  • LGBT cultural competency training for all personnel
  • “Sexual orientation” in equal employment opportunity policy
  • “Gender identity” in equal employment opportunity policy
