Valerie Davis, CEO of EnviroMedia Social Marketing, summarized a recent report, “Full Cost Accounting for the Life Cycle of Coal” (in the Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences). The article describes all of the ways that coal impacts our society and our health and it is sobering, especially at a time that nations are looking for cheaper sources of energy.

It makes us wonder what data will provide the tipping point – the piece of information that makes American households begin to see the relationship between what we consume, what we produce and our health – physical health and environmental health.
