Why does the page "hang" or "time-out" when I submit content to a chapter or group?
Here's the problem:
You've just created a new blog post or event for your chapter or group. You click the Submit button, and nothing happens -- the page just sits there and eventually times-out.
It times-out because it is waiting while it sends an email to each of the folks in your chapter or group. Because many of our chapters have quite a few members, it takes awhile. This is a bug -- the system should update the page right away and not make you wait for the emails to each be sent. It will be fixed when we update to a new version of our site software.
In the meantime, the best bet is to thoroughly check the preview. You can see exactly what you'll get, and you can preview as many times as you need to without the timing-out issue. Then, when you're sure, click submit and ignore the time-out. You can then navigate to the chapter or group page where you are posting the content and see your new post. It should be there right away.
Please don't recreate your page, because your fellow chapter members will each get another email and you will have created two identical pages.
