The Oregon Health Fund Board (OHFB) will be soliciting public input on their proposal for health reform during the month of September. There will be meetings in several cities around the state and one hearing for formal public testimony at the end of the month.
You can view or download the report at this link.
Please take advantage of the opportunity to let the Board know what needs to be in the final report which will be sent to the Governor and the 2009 Legislature. This is not about simply critiquing this report and its contents. We have been building a movement with a vision for a health system built on the premise of improving health, and we've taken several steps so far:
- Developed a vision and set of principles;
- Translated the principles into a framework for reform;
- Identified the elements of a new system;
- Proposed using the Triple Aim as a guide for changes to the delivery system.
Each of these must be seen as part of the whole, not as separate elements unto themselves.
Take some time to review the Draft Report. Also, check out the the reports on the OHFB in Mallen Kear's Blog.
Please plan to attend one of the meetings. Make sure that your voice is heard.
