Care to Join Me in Salem?

I'll be heading down to Salem soon, and I hope you'll join me.

That's right, I'm talking about the 2009 Archimedes Movement Conference on Friday, October 16th. Registration is still open, including full and partial scholarships. We want to make this conference open to anyone who wants to attend, and therefore we've made sure that the cost of registration won't be a barrier to anyone.

Since our first conference 16 months ago, the debate about health reform has risen to a fever pitch. All the while, nothing has really changed and the debate is still not focused on getting the best health outcomes possible for our health care dollars. Now is the perfect time to come together and discuss the situation and remind ourselves why we are passionate about health reform.

Please don't miss this opportunity to learn from and share with people working toward health reform from many angles: food & hunger, business & employee health, primary care & integrative health, health equality & disparities, social justice & faith, and much more.

I'll be kicking off the day, and will introduce you to Bruce Goldberg, charged with carrying out Oregon's health reform efforts.

The location is comfortable, we'll have good food, and there's free parking. See the links on the right if need a ride or can offer a ride to a fellow conference-goer.

I believe that civic engagement plays a crucial role in driving the deep change that we need. Please join me and be a part of a movement that is making a real difference. We can do better!

See you soon,
John Kitzhaber

P.S. In order to succeed - we need you! Please take a moment and tell a friend, neighbor, or family member about the Archimedes Movement and about this conference. An easy way is to forward this message.
