After the shooting at a historically black church in Charleston, South Carolina, that left nine dead, President Barack Obama said, “We as a country will have to reckon with the fact that this type of mass violence does not happen in other advanced countries.”

Gun violence is a topic that intersects with other areas: racial profiling, officer involved shootings, mental health and domestic violence, just to name a few. What are we doing at the local, state and federal level to address this issue?
