The Multnomah Board of County Commisioners are considering a ban on Bisphenol A (BPA), proposed by chair Jeff Cogen. BPA is a potentially cancer-causing chemical that is found in some beverage containers like baby bottles and zippy cups. Commissioner Cogen is pushing for Multnomah County to take a stand against its use in children’s products. You can read his statement sent to constituents here.

The first hearing was October 18th and the board expects to take a vote on October 27th. You can submit written testimony by emailing mult.chair@multco.us or by calling 503-988-3308.
